Meeting Other Families

Would you like to meet another family whose child has a developmental delay, a disability or chronic health condition?

The purpose of family-to-family support is to offer informational and caring support or insight on immediate family or parenting challenges by matching two families. Typical requests include and are not limited to finding a family:

  • Whose child has the same or similar disability
  • Who is living in the same area
  • Who has similar cultural or ethnic backgrounds
  • That is of a similar size or structure
  • That has a similar educational background or income level
To be matched with another family, call toll free 1-888-434-7436 or access the Family to Family Support Network web site.

Callers can expect to:

  • Be asked to complete a simple intake interview over the phone.
  • Be contacted with a match 24 to 48 hours following interview. Contact may be made by email, phone or one-on-one.
  • Have the Family-to-Family Network check in  after 1 week, 4 weeks and 8 weeks to ensure satisfaction.
  • Have the opportunity to make a new match over time as needs friends.
  • In some cases, become good friends with the veteran family
