The WE'RE READY Project is a three way collaborative project between North Dakota Center for Persons with Disabilities, North Dakota Protection and Advocacy and the state Developmental Disabilities council. This project has been funded to meet two primary goals: 1) to ensure the involvement of persons with disabilities in current disaster planning and 2) the involvement of persons with disabilities in ongoing and future disaster planning processes. This will be accomplished through local, county, and statewide planning teams. The WE'RE READY Project sees its primary contact with local and county teams where the project can assist teams in looking at the issues surrounding the disability community and helping these teams to identify local and regional populations of persons with limitations and to assist these teams in recruiting persons with disabilities from their area to participate in their team planning process.
