Why is the service needed?
- RROC allows students who are deaf or hard of hearing the opportunity to receive their education within their local school.
- This service provides students with a reasonable accommodation in order to gain full access to information presented in regular education classrooms.
What do I need to use the service?
The RROC service minimizes costs by using the Internet to transmit data. Besides access to the Internet, you will need a good quality microphone system and a minimum 500 MHz IBM compatible PC (minimum PIII).
What equipment specifications are required?
- High speed internet is preferable however dial-up will work.
- A computer (PIII, 500 MHz or higher, 128 MB 100 Mhz SDRAM)(Soundblaster compatible sound card running at least Windows XP)
- A microphone or microphone system, depending on the application.
Is there a lot of work involved in using the service?
- Absolutely not! The software was written in-house and specifically designed for this application, rendering it efficient and user friendly.
- The most difficulty encountered by our clients is in the initial set-up, often related to a firewall or Internet connectivity at their site.
Is it expensive?
- RROC is a University based business. We have no shareholders to impress and strive only to provide great service and recover our costs. Our fees, consequently, are very reasonable.
- Because we offer a wide range of service options (from hosting servers to providing full service RROC), we have not included fees on this site. They are, however, readily available by calling 1-800-233-1737
